Commission Process
After receiving your email or form, we start off with a Free 20 minute Video Consultation.
During this consultation, be prepared to show me pictures of what you would like. Inspo pics help too!
Choosing Pictures
To get the most realistic effect, it helps to base the painting off of one perfect picture. Having the subject be in focus, with all important features visible, is necessary. Other than that, choose pictures that make you smile.
Sometimes it is hard to find the ‘one’, so I like to have additional pictures that help me fill in the gaps. I am willing to sacrifice a high resolution picture for a lower quality one, if it has a lot of personality and/or great composition/lighting!
Before the free consultation, create a google photo album that you can share with me. Add 5-20 pictures. I find that prioritizing natural light and making sure they are in focus, usually leads to the winners.
Email me at me@marierosefuchs.com if you have any questions!
I will deliver the art piece to your home for free if you live in the Seattle area. The pillow insert is not included, but can be purchased for an extra $15. You can also package gift wrapping for $10.
Shipping price is included in the total price of the commission, and is presented to you post initial consultation. I use USPS First Class Mail, USPS Ground Advantage, and USPS Priority Mail.
Care Instructions:
machine wash inside out on cold + delicate cycle
for best results, block to dry
machine dry inside out on lowest heat + delicate cycle
iron on med-low, inside out, use a kitchen towel as buffer
keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to avoid bleaching
After the first consult, I will create a complimentary sketch of your pet based on what we discussed. I will also give you a summary of the cost and a final price. Once you approve the design and price (+ pay the bill), I will begin working on the piece. The total cost of the piece is due up front.
After payment is completed and contract signed, I start off by choosing colors of embroidery floss and then I create a secondary more detailed sketch using these colors.
Thread paintings take between 40-80 hours to embroider, so the lead time is between 4-8 weeks. Orders can be expedited for a fee.
As I am creating the piece, I will send you weekly updates of the progress. It usually looks worse before it starts coming together!
